About Egyptian customs ACID

According to the decree No. 38 of the Minister of Finance of Egypt in 2021, Egyptian ports will implement the "Advanced Cargo Information declaration"(ACID) requirement. For all imported goods, the consignee must first forecast the cargo information in the local system to obtain ACI Code, provided to the shipper, this ACID Code is required to be compulsorily displayed on the bill of lading and manifest.
This regulation will start trial operation on April 1, 2021. It was originally scheduled to be enforced on July 1, 2021 (all arrival dates). Finally, the regulation was postponed to October 1.
ACID is a new customs system that requires cargo information and trade documents (commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading) to be provided to the Egyptian customs at least 48 hours before the goods are shipped from the exporting country, so that the customs can pass The Risk Management System (RMS) monitors any possible risks to ensure national security.
Exporters must obtain the 19-digits ACID Code from the Egyptian importer in advance before the sea transportation booking. The cargo will be returned,if don't obey this law.
