Abt Singapore transportation under SGCA

According to Singapore's "Strategic Goods (Control) Act (SGCA)" promulgated and implemented on the 1st of 2003, Singapore Customs takes relevant supervision measures for military goods and dual-use goods exported, imported, transshipped and transited from Singapore, except for the United Nations. In addition to the strict control over the export, import, transshipment and transit of countries on the sanctions list, Singapore Customs has the right to carry out further verification on military items and dual-use items shipped through Singapore to other countries not on the UN sanctions list to clarify the end user.
In this regard, our company makes an appeal to remind importers and exporters to pay special attention to the fact that if there are goods that are exported, imported, transshipped, or transited through Singapore and are also included in the control list of military goods or dual-use goods issued by the United Nations, they must be transported before transportation. Be sure to confirm with Singapore Customs in advance whether the goods are allowed to export, import, transship, transit through Singapore, or require a permit to avoid penalties and huge additional costs in violation of local laws and regulations.
